Brigstock Road, Croydon
Private Client

Boyle and Summers were appointed to transform the former builder’s yard into a new sustainable residential development. Set in the former railway sidings, site constraints were addressed including a 5m high retaining wall that forms the cutting, to create a biodiverse, sustainable residential enclave.
A palette of complimentary materials was chosen in the contemporary elevational design to harmonise the building into its surroundings, bridging the small scale residential properties behind with the larger commercial buildings around the station.
The design transforms an unsightly storage yard, synonymous with crime and trespassing, into a gateway apartment development, setting a positive tone and signifying your arrival at Thornton Heath station, hopefully acting as a catalyst for the wider site to be redeveloped.
