Working with Portsmouth City Council we produced one of the first Pilot Case Studies commissioned by Central Government to apply and test the new National Model Design Code. The zone selected for this challenge was an area of change outlined within the Strategic Framework principal plan we had just completed for the City Council. The project examined the practicalities of applying the NMDC process in a dynamic urban and planning context, and was informed by regular consultations with MHCLG officers. The final document was used by PCC as a template for future codes elsewhere in the city.
