Background
Ocean Infinity (OI) are a world-leading marine robotics company
Their new state-of-the-art, remote control and data centre, on the former Vosper Thornycroft shipyard, ensures this historic site will continue to have a significant role to play in marine development in The Solent.

Sustainability is a key aspect of OI’s business, so it was important that our proposals reflected this. Low embodied energy materials, exposed ceilings, natural timber finishes and biophilic features were just some of the solutions employed.

Design
A workplace where efficiency, creativity and innovation will flourish
A double-height reception area with sculptural, spiral staircase provides a dramatic entrance, whilst specialised pods within the control centre enable skilled operators to command OI's robotic ships and underwater vehicles around the world.

The aim for the design was to offer a workplace where creativity and innovation could flourish. The high-quality and distinctive space created helps foster a culture of efficiency, collaboration and communication, that is both fit for the present, and sufficiently flexible for long-term occupation.
